I agree that this is a major frustration. If I create a Task while viewing
at Contact in the BCM, I cannot see that contact informatio from the Task
view. The "Parent" field in the Business Contacts in BCM view shows only
when viewing the BCM Contact. However, when viewing Tasks you cannot see
that same field. I have tried using View>Arrange By>Current View>Define View
(which, by the way, is not an intuitive place to find this feature) to modify
the views to at the field. The "Parent" field does not seem to be available.
That would solve this problem.
I understand that I can "link" any Task to a Contact, but why should I when
it is created from that contact record. It's an extra step that is just a
hassle and bound to cause more problems... and somewhere it is already
"linked."
I find this very frustrating and have a difficult time holding back my
additional comments. When it comes to understanding the needs of its users,
BCM has fallen short of the mark.
The Tasks views should include the all of the BCM Contact fields. I need to
sort tasks by Contact, Company, Account, etc.
I hope this does not fall on deaf ears. I hope this feature is provided as
a update, soon. We are in the process of evaluating a new contact manger for
the company. Right now, it doesn't look good for BCM.
