BCM disappeared when installing SBA!

I installed the trial version of SBA and noticed that my Outlook 2003 no
longer has the Business Contact Manager. Everything about BCM is gone in the
Outlook interface, in Add/Remove Programs, in Start/Programs, and there is
nothing in About Outlook / Deleted Items. Gone, almost.

I tried to install the newer version of BCM and it won't install because it
says another version exists. I assume it is finding something in the
registry. I can edit the registry with some devine guidance from someone
who has a clue. Also, where does BCM live in Start / Programs? I found
nothing obvious with Windows Explorer and searching through Programs /
Microsoft Office / Office11 and some of the subdirectories. I do have a
fairly recent backup of my data

Does anyone have an idea what has happened? I think during the SBA setup
there was some kind of question or issue about using the new version of BCM
and I agreed. I guess old BCM was tossed and new BCM didn't install for
some reason. I usually shut down ZoneAlarm and SpyBot to be safe when
installing.

Not fun.

SBA working well for me other than the above problem I was using MYOB /
MS Money. Unfortunately SBA doesn't work with Wells Fargo, the same
drawback I have with MYOB.

Windows 2000 sp4 fully updated. Dell 866 mhz with 500 meg RAM.

One way to check to see if BCM is installed is looking in:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\Business Contact Manager

SBA only works with BCM v2, so if you didn't already have that, you'll
want to install the that version.

Thanks Luther but that directory doesn't exist, only the SBA one. And as I
said, I can't install BCM v2 because it says another version exists and
aborts the installation. I need to get rid of whatever BCM installer is
looking at to determine that another version exists. Add/Remove won't work
because BCM doesn't exist there now.

Sounds like the SBA with BCM package and the BCM standalone package may
be using different Registry keys to figure out if BCM is installed.

Rerun the SBA Setup program and see what it tells you about BCM, and if
possible try to install it again.

Note that the trial period for SBA/BCM may have expired now that the
product is on the store shelves and that may be having an effect in
your particular situation.
