I have a client runiing Windows XP Pro SP2 for whom I installed Office 2003
SBE. I also installed Business Contact Manager, but the client reported that
he did not see it in Outlook. When I examined the system today I verified
that BCM was apparently not loaded as an add-in. I checked to see if it was
diabled (Help, About, Disabled Items) but there were no disabled items
listed. I also checked Add/Remove Programs to see if it was listed as an
installed program and it was.
I decided to remove and reinstall, but part way through the uniinstall
process the following message appeared. "Error 1306. Another application has
exclusive access to the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\master.mdt. Please shut down all other
applications, then click Retry."
I confirmed Einstein's definition of insanity by repeating this process
several times and obtaing exactly the same results. I next tried to
re-install BCM over itself but I received a message that I had to uninstall
BCM first, then reinstall. So now I am stuck in a loop and I have found
nothing anywhere on the Internet that speaks to this exact problem. Any and
all ideas would be appreciated.
