BCM menus and commands disappear

Hello all,

Without any obvious reason, all BCM menus and commands have disappeared from
Outlook 2003 running under Windows XP.

Some other threads in this forum deal with the same problem, but the most
recent one (Subject: Backup DB and File, Business Database) ended at the end
of 2006 and I suspect that a recent update must in part be responsible for
the problem.

I didn't try all the possible fixes in the aforementioned thread, in part
because I'm not a computer wiz and for example don't know how to "restart the
'sqletc'" services, but I found that the BCM was actually disabled in the
"About Microsoft Outlook > Disabled items" menu (as Raul mentioned in his
last post of 4/7/2006).

After activating it, I now get an error message when starting Outlook
labeled BCM "Impossible to execute the operation. Impossible to find an
object." (or something similar. I'm running this on a French system.) ... and
the BCM menus and commands are still not there.

Does anybody have an experience with this problem now at the end of 2007?

I suspect that some aspects of the BCM have changed with an update. An
indicator for this is that the data file of a BCM database has changed.

Any help is much appreciated!
