Hello all.
As far as the product documentation tells me, Business Contact Manager for
Outlook 2003 Professional supports a way, to synchronize all business
contacts with a Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 2003).
A separate contact database is being used by BCM on the computer. This is
probably the same for the PDA business contact manager software.
Neither the Outlook contact nor the Windows Mobile 2003 contact databases
are therefore going to be used ever.
Question:
1. How can I use the address fields in BCM for PDA to help to use Navigon
Mobile Navigator and automatically pick up address data when right clicking
on a contact?
Does BCM for PDA support this too? The Navigon Navigator installation of
course does not know anything about any special business contact manager
program!
2. How can I send the phone number of a business contact to my PDA with
Bluetooth to a mobile phone?
Both features work fine when a contact has been added to the built-in PDA
contact database.
As Navigon Mobile Navigator V5 was installed on the PDA, a right-click on a
normal contact will open an options menu with the additional entry
'Navigator'.
If I click on it, Navigator starts and the address fields are going to be
added to the routing menu (address, zip, city) for destination.
Same happens if I would like to dail a contact by sending the phone number
over Bluetooth to my mobile phone.
I wonder how BCM for PDA would support both features, if a separate database
and PDA software has to be installed and used.
But reality is, that as a freelancer and also having to contrate on business
and sales, I would have to use a little CRM system on my computer and PDA;
either BCM or some different software.
I really would like the idea, to be able to link E-Mails, phone talk
protocols or oppertunities to an account or business contact on my computer.
However, increasing sales functionality must not limit the features, I used
on my PDA so far.
Somewhere in the BCM newsgroup threads I read about SalesOutlook.
How do they solve this and how good is the PDA software utility?
May there be a solution increasing features without loosing great other
features on the PDA?
Thank you very much for your valuable input.
