BCWP Empty for Some Tasks Eventhough they are completed

I have been using MS Project/Project Server for several years and I never ran
into this problem before. Essentially, I created a project plan, added
resources with cost, and baselined it. Now I am halfway through the project
with several tasks completed. For some of the completed tasks, EV is
calculated correctly. However, for some other completed tasks, it shows the
BCWP as 0 which is not corrent because the task was worked on and completed.
They were also baselined. Does anyone know why BCWP would be zero
considering other tasks are being calculated correctly?

Two causes are common. The most common is that people mark the task as 100%
complete but do not enter [actual start] or [actual finish] dates. BCWP will
show only during the baseline period unless [actual] dates are enterred.
What people do is baseline the schedule and then status it with %Complete
without respecting the reality of the status date and the actual time now.

So, make sure your actual dates are not in the future and the status date is
set to something reasonable.

Second cause might be a discrepancy with %Complete and Physical%Complete.
Make sure the baseline method is consistent for all tasks and agrees with the
basline. That is much less common.

Jim,

Thank you for the quick response. I checked out the project plan and
everything in terms of actual start and actual finish date seems fine.
Everyone logs their actual hours via project server everyday so it's
automatically calculated. I baselined it and made sure it was set to %
Effort for calculating EV. Any other suggestions as to why BCWP is still
zero?

Thanks,

Rickey
