BCWS vs B'H'WS

We do not load cost in our schedules based on legal and company proprietary
rules. Instead we use a BHWS and BHWP in the scheduling group. Of course
those hours are costed in a financial system which mirrors the work spread in
MS Projects timephased view.

The problem is, as an analyst i'd like to have visible, next to Projects %
Work Completed, a field that displays the hours that should have been
completed by the current date (or status date); Basically a BHWP or BHWS
field.

Since at the detail tasks our hours are level loaded, I can write the
formula to provide the data I am looking for but I am concerned at the
summary level the formula does not provide an accurate number since on the
summary level the hours are not level loaded as a result of timescale spreads
overlapping, etc.

Any help on getting the summary number for this BHWS concept is greatly
appreciated.

How about assigning all resources a rate of $1/hour then use normal BCWS and
BCWP? $ would then match hours exactly

I am pretty sure this would work Rod, but in my case where the schedule is
already baselined, I would need to rebaseline every task so the costs get
added to the baseline and could be measured in the BCWS & BCWP fields. To
that point, I would need to somehow get my scheduled start and finish to mach
the current baseline and then set the baseline after adding the cost of 1
dollar per hour for each reasourse... correct? I am not sure I am willing
to work that hassel unless there is an easy way to back out status, reset
start and finish to original baseline and proceed witht he rate idea.

thanks for the idea though.
