Beep Command not beeping

Hi All
I want to use the Beep command to warn me
at a certain condition.
Beep will flash either a bar or a window.
How can I make it produce a beep?
The assistant and excel functions all
produce the expected sounds.

Do you have a sound assigned to the Windows Default Beep event (Control
Panel, Sounds and Multimedia)?
