Beep not working

Hi,

I have "Beep" and "Docmd.Beep" statements in my code on a form, but I don't
hear the beeps. I've checked the code using Msgbox statements, and it is
executing those statements, but for some reason, I'm not hearing the beeps.

I do hear the beeps from other MS programs (like Outlook), and the sound is
not set to mute. So, I was wondering if there is something else I should
check to make sure why the Beep is not sounding.

The Beep in ACCESS uses the Default Sound in your Windows Sound assignments.
Be sure that you have a wave file associated to the Default Sound for your
PC.

Never mind. Figured it out. The Sound options under Control Panels were
disabled. Duh.

I've also had a similar problem. Under the control panel sounds, can you
tell me which sound property would apply to Access 2000 beep?

Ken said the "Default Sound".

In my control panel list of sounds, I see "Default Beep" under the
"Windows" branch; that's probably it. (XP SP2)

If it's not the Default sound try the Asterisk.

Yep, that's what it is in WinXp Pro SP2....

I think it was Default Sound in Win98SE, but now I'm really taxing my
memory....< g >

I'm at a loss. On my laptop (3 yr old Dell) I have windows home xp with
sp2, but no Default, Default Beep, Beep, and asterick does not work either.
Any other ideas? My desktop Dell with home xp with sp2 does have default
beep. I guess I'll try each program event under the Windows category to try
to get one that works on my laptop.

Yes, that was where I looked. On my Dell laptop with WinXP Home, version 5.1
(Build 2600.xpsp_sp2gdr.050301-1519 : Service Pack 2), under "Sounds and
Audio Devices Properties", "Sounds", Windows, my program events go from
Critical Stop to Device Connect (without Default Beep). My Dell desktop with
the same version 5.1 of WinXP Home, looks the same as the picture on your
link. On the laptop, I even tried the Windows Default Sound scheme and it
still does not have Default Beep.
