Beginner-Olap Extensions

H

Hemanth

Hi,

We have used olap extensions in our office.

I am beginner to this.

I will tell you what the requirement is.

The client wants to see a OWC report where he can put the resource and
task as the row fields so that when he drills on the resource he can
see the specifc tasks assigned to the resource.

But when i put the resource dimension and task dimension next to each
other and drill down on resource dimension it shows a blank.

Please let me know what i should modify in the extension code or should
i change any stored proc.

Please help and remember i am a complete beginner so please give some
detailed instructions.

Thanks for all the help.

Regards,
Hemanth

Hi Hemanth,

I wouldn't know how to give detailed instructions in a short readable
format.

Buttom line is that I would suggest that you use the standard earned value
extension from MS as a base. You then have to do a complete rework of that
code.
That includes scripts to create tables, the views processing scripts and the
VBA-code.
Remember that it's more than just the taskname that you need. You also need
actual hours, budget hours, baselines etc. so that there are data to look
upon, when you drill down.
We have a working version of this running, so it's definately possible, but
theres a lot of work in it.

If you want further help, perhaps the microsoft.public.project.developer
group could do the trick?
