Behavior of call-out with fragmented shape; Visio 2003

Running Visio 2003 Professional under Win 2K Pro.

I created a Venn diagram shape, a large circle with 2 smaller overlapping
circles inside it; then fragmented the shape. Essentially creating 5 shapes.
I want to explicate each part of the Venn diagram with a callout shape.
Problem is, Visio won't let me connect the line end of the callout to the
center shape. When I try to drag the end into the center shape (which is the
overlapping portion of the 2 interior circles), an angry red box appears,
and the end is instead positioned elsewhere.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

PS: I was able to do this successfully in Visio 2000.

Appreciate any help.

Tom, here is your solution (from Visio 2003 Help):

Work with connection points
Add a connection point to a shape

1.. Select a shape.
2.. Click the Connection Point tool .
Note If the Connection Point tool isn't visible, click the down arrow next to the Connector tool, and then click the Connection Point tool.

3.. Press CTRL and click the selected shape.
Note Be sure the shape is selected before you add the connection point. The selected shape has a green, dashed border. Connection points are created only for the selected shape, even if the pointer is positioned over a different shape.
