Behavior -> Placement tab greyed out for connectors (Visio 2003 SP2)

If I want to influence the behavior of connectors (NOT lines) in any
Visio document I create (2003 SP2), all the items in the Placement tab
of the Behavior dialog box are grayed out. I noticed that this issue has
been discussed in Visio-related newsgroups before but that no useful
solution has been suggested so far.
One possible clue I haven't seen brought up in previous discussions, is
that the options does become available if I change the Interaction style
in the Behavior tab from "Line" to "Box". However, with this setting it
becomes very difficult to do anything useful with connectors.

Any suggestion what could be wrong here?

The Placement tab applies to non-connectors. The Connector tab applies to
connectors. If you want to make a change at the page level, go to File >
Page Setup > Layout and Routing.

Thanks, that makes sense.
However the fact that there *is* a Placement tab makes things confusing.
Perhaps it would be better not to show it at all when dealing with
connectors. Just like there is no Connector tab when dealing with other
shapes.

Agreed. I'm not sure what the rationale for doing it different was.
