Behaviors: Opening external links in a new window

FP help on behaviors re Opening external links in a new window

states: For text hyperlinks, however, I recommend replacing the http:// in
the URL with JavaScript:// etc

I tried this for my site, and it works for IE, Opera, Netscape, but fails on
current Firefox.

Can anyone recommend a get-around for this please?
