BES issue not resolved?

I found this post from 2004 and am experiencing the exact same issue.

--------SNIP---------
Just got a brand new sparkling iMac G5. I love everything about it.
Office 2004 makes it simple to co-habitate with my windows lap top and
other pc users. The Entourage interface is on par or better than
Outlook 2003 in most cases.

The only stinkin problem I have with the Mac/Office/Entourage is that
when I file or delete messages from within my configured Exchange 2003
account via Entourage, my exchange server gets updated (I.e. My Windows
Outlook 2003 machines see the change), but my Blackberry does not. I
just don't get why the exchange server is not communicating the file or
deletion of the message to the Blackberry Enterprise server when the
file or delete is done with Entourage. Everything works fine when I
file or delete a message with Outlook 2003. What is Entourage doing
differently? You would think that as long as the Exchange Server is
being updated, the change would trickle to the Blackberry.
Please, please, please, any help is appreciated.
--------SNIP---------

The follow up was this:

--------SNIP---------
I was told by BlackBerry support in the last week that it has something
to do with the way Entourage strips the header from an email the the BB
serices uses when it syncs with Exchange. So if you mark a message as
read in Entourage it will update the Exchange server and then sync with
your BB, but if you move a message (or delete it) with Entourage it
will update Exchange, but not your BB device.

It sucks that microsoft makes both products with this flaw. It's almost
like they don't want people using BB with Entourage.
--------SNIP---------

Has anything been done to resolve this? I find it very frustrating to
have to clean out orphanned files from my blackberry whenever I've been
using Entourage.

Thanks for any feedback!

Make sure that when you delete a message, it is going to the deleted
items folder and syncing back to exchange. If it is permenantly
deleted before being synced back, it will not show up on the
blackberry. Basically the blackberry server cannot see the message and
assumes something went wrong, so to be as safe as possible it leaves
the message on the device. If it sees the message in the deleted items
folder, it knows the message should be deleted and runs through the
operation.

If I can get the rest of my logon issues solved (see my other post), I
will do some testing on this with my setup.

My messages are going to the deleted folder, but I understand Entourage
treats the junkmail and delete actions differently than foldering. When
I folder an email message (including foldering to the deleted folder)
it works fine with BES. I tried ignoring the delete button and
foldering (also shutting off junkmail) but that darn button is so easy
to hit. :)

Not a solution. Just some comments.

I've read through your postings. They're interesting and your research
is helpful. I may be wrong but I can't see how this is an Entourage
problem (regardless of what the Blackberry folks say). While I'm not an
Exchange expert I don't see how email headers can affect a message's
location within an email store. That's an Exchange server function.

Considering that all the Microsoft products are working correctly
(Entourage and Outlook are filing the message in the correct locations
during synchronization) I would say this problem lies squarely on the
Blackberry folks.

My two cents only. Not a well-informed answer.
