Best approach to update remote locations

I'm not a programmer (actually a ChE) but a few years ago, I set up data
collection system on a chemical process using Access 2000, VBA-DAO, ODBC.
There are 3 BE mdb files that contain only data tables, 3 Access FE's that
operators use to enter transactions or initiate ODBC hourly data collection
and one Excel FE that supervision uses to process and view tables and graphs
which also uses VBA-DAO. All files currently reside on a Win2003 server on a
local LAN in South Carolina. Now, I live in St. Louis but have VPN access to
this server. Until now, I've happily managed the system from here with a
high speed data connection. To get the latest data (don't laugh) I simply
copied all the BE files to my local directory. If something important is
going on and I want to stay current, I may copy the BE files multiple times a
day now taking up to a half an hour each time.

Therefore I'm looking for a more efficient way of updating my local BE files
so I only get the "new" data. I NEVER MAKE CHANGES TO THE BE FILES.

I've read about Replication and One-Way Synchronization but these may be
overkill for what I need. I want to keep it simple. Any advise would be
appreciated.
