Hi,

I'm trying to add a best fit line on my chart but the line is not coming out straight. It keeps coming up with a light curve. How do I make the trendline straight?

I wish I could answer your question. Instead, I'm asking you for help with my xy scatter charts. I use exel SLOPE and INTERCEPT formulas to determine the best (presumably least squares) linear fits to my data. How can I superpose my straight line on the scatter diagram?

Kinrog -

Either (a) insert a linear trendline on the chart or (b) use the slope and
intercept to compute data for two or more points on the worksheet and use
the data to add another data series to the chart.

If you are using linear axes for an XY (Scatter) chart, and if you insert a
trendline (Linear), the line should be straight.
