Best method to connect Java Application to SQL Server 2005

I am very interested in finding the best method to connect a Java
application (Thick SE Client running JDK 1.6).
My choices seem to be
1. ODBC-JDBC Bridge
2. Microsoft JDBC Driver
3. Other JDBC Drivers

My criteria is performance and capability.

Any suggestions.

I would suggest asking in a SQL Server newsgroup. This newsgroup is
for ADPs and Microsoft Access.
