Best option to create an addin for Word XP

I am looking for help understanding the options for building addins for Word
(XP) and the pro's and con's of each. A reference to documents to get me
started would be a great help too.

You'll have a much better chance of getting meaningful discussion on these
questions in the word.vba (programming) groups. At least one has to be visible
in the interface you're using.

You might also want to do a Google search on msnews groups for your questions,
as they have come up before (again, in the vba groups).
