Best practice for using custom views

A number of my PM's have commented that, unless a view was fully expanded
prior to applying a filter, tasks that meet the critieria in that the filter
that should display are not showing.

When desigining a filter, can I force it to fully expand the project
schedule prior to applying the filter or must I instruct my users to always
fullly expand the project schedule when working with custom filters.

Best regards,

This is a training and performance issue. You will need to teach your PM's
that they must expand all summary tasks completely before applying a Filter
of any kind, and then hold them accountable for this behavior. To expand
all summary tasks quickly, the PM's can click the Show button on the
Formatting toolbar and then select the All Subtasks option. Hope this
helps.

Thanks Dale. That's what we thought. Any chance of this being added to the
next version of Server?

I doubt there will be a fix for this problem, because what you perceive to
be a problem is actually default behavior of Microsoft Project. Sorry.
That's why I said it is a training and performance issue. Hope this helps.
