I am new to Access and have been tasked to develope a
Database Solution for my organization and to post it to
our Intranet.
I have the following to work with:
Web Server (Intranet) - Netware 5.1
Office platform is Office97 with the possibility we will
be upgrading to OfficeXP(2002) in the near future.
I have authorization to purchase what ever Developer
Edition(MOD) of Office that is required to complete the
task.
XPPro is the OS
Browser is Internet Explorer 6, but I am sure the OfficeXP
Web Components are not installed.
Numerous remote users connecting via VPN
Minimum of 80 simultaneous user's with possibility up to
200 connecting to database.
I believe Netware 5.1 Web Server will support ASP, but do
not know about ASP.NET or Data Access Pages.
My question is - What version of Access is recommended to
develop my application in and how should I publish it -
ASP / ASP.NET / Data Access Pages and should I but the
Developer Edition (MOD)?
The database will be fairly large and have a front end /
backend concept with Access Security.
