Best way to add Project WSS sites to Sharepoint Portal ?

I have Project Server 2003 up and running with integration with WSS. We've
got over 300 projects and project workspace sites in the system. I just
upgraded the server to SharePoint Portal Server 2003. My goal is to be able
to use SPS to search for documents across all 300+ project workspaces. My
challenge is figuring out the most efficient way to get SPS to include all
the project sites in its content sources. I can add the sites one at a time
to the Portal and that works but I'm wondering if there's a more efficient
way that Project Server, WSS, and SPS can be integrated so sites are
automatically added when they are first published - at the same time the WSS
sites are created. Any recommendations?

I've setup the connection to the Portal in PWA using the "Connect to
SharePoint Portal Server" feature. That doesn't seem to do much more that
just adding a link to the Portal on the PWA pages for documents, issues,
risks. Is this configration supposed to do anything else?

(ps. I'm not sure if this should be posted to SPS instead of Project Server.
I took a stab at it here because I didn't see much in the SPS discussion
group about integration with Project Server sites that are automatically
created )
Thanks.

I don't think that the link does anything more than this.

If you want to go to the trouble, you can migrate the sites to SPS, which
should then include them automatically for evermore.....
