Best way to compare 2 versions of a document

Matt

What is the best way to compare 2 versions of a
document? I tried to use the Tools:Track Changes:Compare
and it didn't show me any differences between the
documents even though I made a change. Any ideas would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Matt

I'm assuming you have Word 2000 or earlier.

What you did was the right way to do it. Word should compare the
document on the screen with the one on disk that you nominate. It should
then mark up the differences as tracked changes.

Make sure you can *see* the marked changes: choose Tools > Track Changes
Highlight changes.

To change the format of the display, choose Tools > Options > Track
Changes.

Hope this helps.
