best way to edit a FTP provider with 2003

I have a service provider that does not have frontpage enabled extentions.
What I am trying to figure out is what is the best way to get FTP setup with
this site so I can edit it with frontpage. I see there are many options to
do this and I am just a little confused.

I use Frontpage on the computer, save the files, and then open up my FTP
program, upload the files to the Website. Of course you don't use the
Frontpage extentions you can find alternatives. Do all your updating on the
computer, then transfer to Website.
