Hi All,
Over the next week we are migrating apps & data between servers and one of
the things we need to do is move the administrative installation point. I
know the files that are used to install and maintain Office have paths to
the installation point hard-coded in them and am wondering if all we need to
do after we move the installation point is to update these paths. For
example, we have a shortcut using the following path to sync Disc 1:
\\OLD_SERVER_NAME\Ofc_2000\Disc_1\SETUP.EXE /fvm
\\OLD_SERVER_NAME\Ofc_2000\Disc_1\data1.msi
Do I need to do anything other than change the path to:
\\NEW_SERVER_NAME\Ofc_2000\Disc_1\SETUP.EXE /fvm
\\NEW_SERVER_NAME\Ofc_2000\Disc_1\data1.msia
I searched the MS ORK site and found information related to installing and
maintaining an install, but nothing in reference to changing the physical
location.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks & Ciao,
Tony
