I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is published to SharePoint 2007
document library. I do not have InfoPath Forms Service setup or a
Shared Service Provider set up. Many of the users are logging in thru
a VPN connection to the application server to fill out the form. They
do not have InfoPath on their computers. I'm confused on the best
method to publish the form that will allow the fastest retrieval of
the form and the smoothest submit. I get the following message when
I publish a new version
"The server is running InfoPath Forms Services, but the compatibility
setting for this form template is InfoPath only."
The information is being submitted to an email address, a database,
and then to the SharePoint document library. Users are complaining
that everything is too slow.
I'm very new to SharePoint and I'm confused between the uses for
content type, web service, Infopath form services and Sharepoint
Service provider and if setting any of this up would help the speed
issues.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
