One more question - I'm new to Mac and Scripts. What would be the
best/easiest way to set this script up to run in my Entourage program? Is
there a way to add it to the toolbar or something?

I'm a bit lost on the best way to access and run it.
Try this AppleScript:

Great - Just one last question: When I run the script is ask me where the pic should go in the Home folder - I select Pictures. I then have all the pictures that I have imported "loose" in the Pictures folder. Is this ok? Seems a bit unorganized.

Great! One last question - When I run the script it opens a dialogue box "Where" > dropdown list containing documents, desktop, applications, movies, pictures, etc. If I select Pictures it will drop the photo into that folder, open iPhoto and will appear in an event.

Question is I've now got all the pictures "loose" in the "Pictures" folder. Is that ok or should they be consolidated into an import folder or something?

Thank you.

Well, if you want to use iPhoto to manage them, you should import them into
iPhoto, then get rid of the loose photos.

If you have a very large number of photos, I have found the application
iPhoto Library Manager
extremely useful. You can get it at http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/
Note that I have no connection to the developer of this app other than as a
satisfied customer.
