Hi G.C.,
In your scenario this may be specially instrumented copy of MS Office 2007 Beta 2 for the study. If the study is still ongoing then
you may want to check with your MS Office team contact on how to proceed.
If this is on a company computer be sure to check with your computer administrator on how to proceed.
If you are doing this for your own use, and you have a 'regular' MS Office 2007 Beta 2 copy, then you may want to install the
Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh update (B2TR) patches to it. That should allow you to do 2 things: (a) to extend the beta
period through 31March2007 and (b) to have the opportunity to open and resave any important documents/spreadsheets etc from the B2TR
updated version. The final release of Office 2007 may not be able to reuse documents from a beta 2 version, but should be able use
B2TR files. The B2TR updates are available from
http://microsoft.com/downloads (search on B2TR).
If you have no files that need saving that were created in Beta 2 and the study is completed you may want to look at installing an
Office 2007 free 60 day trial edition from
http://trymicrosoftoffice.com while you await the release product being sent to you.
To install an Office 2007 trial or retail copy you need to first uninstall all of the Beta 2 products from Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows control including those listed here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927222/en-us?FR=1
(if you encounter problems uninstalling the Office 2007 Beta2 products while logged in as an administrator you may also want to use
the information in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us?FR=1
In any scenario be sure that you backup your documents before proceeding, just in case.
===================
I am part of the Microsoft Office Usage study and received a message to today
that the Beta has expired.
They are not due to send out the Full version until 2/19/07.>>
