Beta for Office 14

R

Rainald Taesler

Today un a German IT-Newspaper I found that this week a "public beta"
for Ofiice 14 will start.

Where and how can one apply for taking part?

It's great to know you are interested in trying out the Office-14 beta
build. Unfortunately, you will not be able to sign up for the first
Beta release.

Thanks for the reply.
Too sad.
The object of interest would be be OneNote.
Which kind of persons is eligible?

I had been active in the Beta if ON2007 and - as a professor on the
field of BIT - over the years I was involved in quite some other Beta
test.
You can keep track of the latest developments in the "Press Room"
(Bottom right hand corner of the page) section on this website -
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX100487411033.aspx?pid=CL100571081033.

Thanks for the pointer.
It's not of too much help, however :-(

All indications are that it is a private beta, which is consistent with how
MS has done their testing in the past at this stage.

YES, it seems so.
The article I was referring to spoke of a "public" Beta.
Maybe they were wrong.

Apart from that:
Who might be entitled to be "invited" for a "private" Beta?

AFAICS for a rather long time hardly anybody than You and Me and David
Olsen have been held the community going (the old MVPs hardly ever seen
[Kathy Jacobs obviously gone to PPT, Patrick Schmid retired into
business after his doctorate, Ben M. Schorr seldom seen and if so,
mostly off/besides topic {sorry, Ben}]).

Who else?

Rainald
P.S. Do you have any idea on who "Vinay B Reddy" (who denied the
possibility of taking part) might be? As he is not carrying any tag
("msft" or so) I seriously doubt that he might be an "official" or a
member of the developers team).

I thought you were a MVP Rainald.
If not, why are you not so? You help a lot here.
If you are a person who cannot try ON 14, who is?

Oh No!

The procedures MS follows for awarding the title are rather strict. [1]
One does not apply for being assigned and I guess that there were no
suggestions made.
You help a lot here.

Thanks for the flowers
