I've got a datasheet form that as soon as I add
conditional formatting to the text controls it goes into
very very long "Calculating..." in the status bar and the
Windows XP Task Manager reports 100% CPU usage. There's
also a slight flickering of the form as if it's
repainting very quickly. When the form loads, the data is
instantly rendered in the correct conditional formatting,
but the status bar reads "Calculating..." indefinately.
Relevent form settings:
* Dynaset based on a query
* 10 visible text controls on the form
* 2 not visible text controls
* 1 condition -> [txtReferrerID]="VENDOR" - although even
changing the single condition to "True" (without the
quotes) causes the same problem
* Pressing F9 (recalculate key) causes the form to stop
calculating
* There are no macros or expression on any of the forms
events
* The length of time that the form calculates appears to
be exponentional with the number of text controls that
have conditional formatting. With one control is calcs
for about 15 seconds. With 2 controls about 45 minute.
With 10 controls it calcs for about 15 minutes.
This problem happens on all PCs in our office (4 of
them). Processors are all P4 and all running Windows XP
Pro.
Running Access 2003 with Beta 2 Tech Refresh. This issue
is not listed as on the known beta issues.
Any ideas????
