BETA: Office 2003 weird problems

G

Greg Hilton

Hi all,

On Friday my laptop was running fine with Office 2003
Beta and the latest tech refresh downloaded.

Now it will pick up email from my exchange server, but I
cannot reply to any email. I get an error:

The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If
the problem persists, restart Outlook.

If I try and add a new email account I get an error:

The operation failed due to a registry or installation
problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem
perists, please reinstall.

SO I've done a repair, and also removed the beta and done
a full re-install. All with no joy.

It's not the email server as my 2nd PC is happily picking
up email, replying etc using Office XP.

Any ideas,

thanks,

Greg

Try creating a new profile. I just installed the beta (5507) to my
production workstation (since it has worked so well on my other test
machines) and I had so many problems that I ended up creating a new profile.
Seems to have helped.
