Beta Office 7 leftovers prevent me from installing Office 7

SRita

I had installed a Beta Office 7 version and had been using it successfully
for the last 6 months. I attended a Launch session last week and received my
product key for the official download but cannot get it to install as somehow
it thinks I still have the beta version installed. ( I uninstalled it first
but it appears that there may some files that are still there that make it
think there is a Office 7 version). Can someone from Microsoft advise as to
next steps.

I'm not from Microsoft, but I had the same problem. In addition to
installing Office 2007 Beta, I installed the "Publish to PDF or XPS"
extension. Once I uninstalled that, the installation of my registered
Office 20077 everything worked fine.

You might look through your Add/Remove Programs list and see if
there's anything related to Office 2007 Beta that still needs
removing.

Good luck.

Don

P.S. On the other hand, if I haven't understood the question at all,
please ignore. :)

Thanks for the link. Followed the directions posted in 928218 and I got both
Grove and Office to install. Great work.

I am having a similar problem...I had installed a Beta Office 7 version &
then when I downloaded a trial version of Office 7, was unable to install it.
I had uninstalled the Beta version, as I was instructed to do. If you have a
solution to this problem, please let me know. I think it's really wrong of
Microsoft to not offer any help to those of us who have downloaded the Beta
version in an effort to help them...thanks...
