The beta 2 kit that you order will last through November of this year.
However, you can download the technical refresh which will extend the
deadline to January of next year.
I would only install it on a test machine, not a production machine.
Barring the use of a second test machine, I would partition my computer and
install on the second partition with a new OS installed to keep the beta
code discrete from my production machine.
Upgrading over Office XP works fine. Downgrading does not.
