BETA Outlook 2007 - Can't drag-n-drop appointments in 'day' view

I am not sure if this is a bug, but 2003 never behaved like this. In calendar
view, when you are viewing "day" or multiple days, you can view each
appointment as a colored block of time on the schedule. You used to be able
to click and drag it to a new time if the appointment changed. Now when I do
this, the appointment "jumps" back to the original time immediately when I
release the left mouse button. The only way to change the time or date is to
open it and physically type in a new time, or delete it and make a new appt
at the new time. I have Beta-2 and all releveant updates, clean XP system
with all updates. The entire laptop was redone this weekend and updated. Can
you no longer drag and drop appointments?

Hi Noel,

This works here without a problem. Try deleting all custom views by
starting Outlook with the /cleanviews command line parameter. Let me
know if that solves the problem.

I'm able to do this okay, but I seem to recall the other day that if I let
go of the button at the wrong moment it would not move. If this isn't the
problem, I'm not sure what other setting might cause this. I know in Excel
there's an option to turn off drag & drop cell editing, but I don't think
there's a similiar option in Outlook.

I tried your suggestion, no change. I still cannot drag-n-drop any
appointments in Outlook. -Noel

You can try running Office Diagnostics (Start, All Programs, Microsoft
Office, Microsoft Office Tools), but I doubt it will do anything. You
could also try uninstalling and reinstalling.
Other than that, I don't know what is wrong and suspect that you have
hit a bug. Can you give us more generic information about your setup? Do
you use Exchange, a PST, etc?

Thanks,

I have reinstalled. I installed 2007 over 2003 originally, then in a fit of
OCD, I decided to clean up my whole system. I have JUST started from scratch,
new XP and all updates, then 2007 with One Note from clean slate. I cannot
remember if I had this bug before the new install or not. Currently,
everything is working fine except for this and a server certificate issue I
posted on just now. I also had an issue a few times where Outlook would not
start, it would frezze after accepting the server certificate, then after a
few freezes and kills via task manager, it asked if I wanted to try safe
mode. I did, it froze, finally it asked if I wanted to "detect and repair".
This cycle occured 3 times and seems to have stopped now, but I am left with
the drag and drop bug. I may have had this bug before that cycle of stuff,
but not sure.

As far as specifics, no Exchange server, just a basic IMAP server here at
the University of Washington that requires SSL for both send and receive.

Pennsylvania...;)

I've replied to the SSL issue.
The issue with the drag & drop of appts sounds like a bug. I'll submit
it as such.
