Beta Version of Windows Mobile 5.0 compatible add-in available

Hi all,

The beta version of the add-in that will allow you to sync Windows Mobile
5.0 (Pocket PC platform) devices with Business Contact Manager for Outlook
can be found now in the Microsoft Download Center. The link is here:

This will work with both the current release of Business Contact Manager and
the Beta release that some of you are currently trying out.

Thanks. It seems to work ok with BCM2003 on my Cingular 8125, although the
Pictures and Video viewer program on the 8125 doesn't work now. Is that a
know bug?

Also, is this what we can expect for BCM2007 or will there be a newer more
feature rich version (pretty please)??

Mobile 5.0 and I can not get it to sync with the phone. Thoughts?

Smartphones...

It appears I'm having the same problem on my Moto Q. I have the app
installed, when I use ActiveSync it shows that it syncs 40+ items but when I
try to access those contacts on the Q, only one contact shows up...

Just for clarification, you are checking for these new contacts in Business
Contacts on your Q and not regular Contacts, right?

If you check the download page, it says:

"The following are also required:

Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Software for Pocket PC "

The Q is *not* a Pocket PC, it is a SmartPhone. So I wouldn't expect this
version to work. I'm suprised you got it to work as much as you did. Maybe
they will release a version that supports SmartPhones soon...

Presently, the only way I know of to get your BCM contacts into a SmartPhone
is with Chapura's Pocket Mirror. It works pretty well *and* the BCM contacts
end up in the default contacts database on the Smartphone, which means caller
ID will work and you'll be able to dial them from the default dialing
application. Neither of those things work with Pocket BCM...

I don't believe that the "Pocket Contact Synchronizer" software works with
OL2003 or 2007, so that is not an option.

Chapura and CompanionLink (www.companionlink.com) are the only options I
know of now for synching BCM to a WM Smartphone.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and am very pleased with the results. "The BCM
contacts end up in the default contacts database on the Smartphone, which
means caller ID will work and you'll be able to dial them from the default
dialing application." The Microsoft Outlook® Add-in: Pocket Contact
Synchronizer version 1.2 (PCS) is a good option for those that feel that
access to your BCM contacts on your smartphone should be a standard feature.
