beta2 office 2003 unable to re-install

Using the Windows Installer Clean Up tool caused all of my
Office 2003 and 2000 programs to disappear from the
ADD/REMOVE Programs (Windows 2000 Prof).

When I try to re-install the Beta2 Office CD, I receive an
error message saying the product key I entered was wrong --
however the screen never shows for me to put in the
product key...

any suggestions of how to reinstall or locate my missing
Office 2003 or Office 2000 programs would be most
appreciated...

Hi Tom,

If you use the MS Windows Installer Cleanup tool
designed for MS Installer v1 on a PC with MSI v2
you can have the type of problems you described.
It's not a MS supported use unfortunately.

If you had installed
the beta refresh updates to Office 2003 beta
see if locating and deleting the file, oap11.dat
then trying the reinstall of Office 2003 beta
works.
