i've been an outlook user for years.
i believe we need a new enhancement to outlook rules, one that will allow:
a - finding rules (search existing rules to locate specific items like
domanin name, strings, ip-addresses and rages of ip-addresses
b - a better method of setting what rules run first
c - ability to use built-in microsoft spam rules after your own rules run
first
d - ability to enter a starting ip address like 216.1.0.0 to 216.3.37.63 in
message header when builting a rule
e - ability to examine html looking for an ip-address that is blocked or
domain name or url's found.
f - ability to look-up domain names (http url's) found in html emails and
check for blocked ip-address ranges (well known spammers)
g - ability to enter the domain names found in html email, and look-up
ip-address
and build a database of ip-address that are from well know spammers. this
should be updatable on a timer bases (like daily, weelky, etc)
h - ability to share the spammer database will other outlook people (hosted
by microsoft or hosted by business owner so that other people can get up to
date information)
i - ability to create a folders of rules and set when (order of execution)
examples: folder one (rules for emails that are important to me run first
and each rule runs in this order)
folder two (rules for emails that are LESS inportant to me run first and
each rule run in this order)
j - Since rules when built run first to last, it is very important that you
allow the end use to tell outlook in what order a rule or folder of rules is
to be executed.
k - allow for forwarding an email that will show the full rfc822 headers (a
selectable option (forward to distribution or email address with full rfc 822
headers)
this will allow spam reporting to be done using rules than the manual method
required today.
l - a nigerian scam rule that would contain well know phrases (users built,
and maintained), that report to all know reporting sites or user defines
reporting sites.
thanks
