Better solution to information in footers? Versioning.

I want to add a more customized footer to my diagrams to hold versioning
information. The footers incorporated and extremely limited. Temporarily I
added a small word table (conform the look to my other docs) but it does not
allow me to show the same table on every page, and the page numbering does
not update.

Anyone find a better solution or know of a better approach?

Thanks in advance,

Todd

The normal way in Visio to add common information to a page is to use
background pages. Visio added headers and footers to address a specific
problem. If the size of a Visio drawing is not the same size as the printer,
the headers and footers were added so that each printed page could have some
identifying information. When the Visio page and the printer page are the
same size, there is limited benefit of using H/F over background pages.

The background pages are far more versatile.
