Does anybody could tell me if ther are any ways to advance in MS Office
program, such Excel and Access? I've been to library to borrow some books
about these topic, but all I could find in the books are just the stuff that
I've already known.... I'm sure that there are a lot more things to discover
in MS Office, but I just can't find the way to get to it!!!!!
The reason that I know there are a lot more stuffs to learn because I've
downloaded some templates from office.microsoft.com or any other sources,
I've noticed that in those templates, there are some features that I didn't
know of......
Basically, my goal is just to advance in MS Office, and then go beyond it to
programming....
Thanks in advance

Best would be to go to the application-specific newsgroups and read the
messages there on topics that interest you. No kidding. I started doing that
some 10 years ago, and I still haven't learned everything about Word there is
to know. But I know a LOT more now than when I began :)

Hi Cindy,
I know that everybody kindda have their own ways to learn a certain thing. I
think your way of learning is also one of the most popular kind. However,
imagine you put yourself 10 years in learning one thing, don't you think that
it is kindda TOUGH way to learn one thing.
I'm not saying that I have a better way to learn something, and I also truly
appreciate your reply and your suggestion, but I'd rather try to find any
ways that take me a littttle less time than this!!!! :)

good luck... No, isn't "tough"; it's fun. It's taken 10 years because the
software isn't static. It, and the environment in which it's used, changes every
couple of years. If you want to stay on top of it, the learning never stops :)
The more I learn, the more I find out how much I still don't know!

Newsgroups, websites and blogs (and you'll find the links to the good ones in
the newsgroups) are where you find the tricks, workarounds and cutting edge
information. The stuff that doesn't make it into the newsgroups.

You know what? I truly believe that learning is lifelong journey. But maybe
I should have put it this way: You are actually not learning one thing for
ten years, but you rather working with it and discovering new thing that
you've never known.
Do you feel that way?
Best Regard,
