BFormmail & From email address in forms

D

Doug

I have been told that by using BFormmail it will get rid of the problem of
the forms from email addresses being from the website hoster server.
The script can be got from http://www.infosheet.com/iScripts.html

Has anyone used it and dose it work?
If so how can I use it with front page, I dont know anything about the
script language or how to incororate it into a front page app.

TIA

I have not used BFormmail, but have used Matt's Formmail v 1.92 on
which BFormmail is apparently based.
It is a Perl/CGI script, which requires Perl installed on the server.
You will need to configure the script for your server, and your own
email addresses formatting requirements.
If on a Unix server, the script will be uploaded to your cgi-bin, and
then CHMOD to 755. The upload should be done using FTP - FP's HTTP
mode will corrupt the script, since it will be treated as a binary,
not text.
In the page with the form, in form properties use Send to Other and
use the scripts path/name for the form handler.

In Matt's version, Email addresses can be hard coded in the script,
which means your website has no email addresses available for Spammers
to harvest.
