Bi-Lingual setting of Word 2003 SP2

My Word 2003 SP2 has the marker set-up for bi-lingual, i.e. the marker
is active BOTH on left AND right side outside of the text.

This is a drawback while editing.

Is there a way to disable the bi-lingual settings? (I want to mark-up on
left side and only put marker at row end on right side)
