There's talk around here of passing around our newest WBS to the various
department heads in order to get their bid hours on a project. Those of us
in IT are looking for a way to prevent this being done with Excel, which is
the current approach being discussed in the PMO. Dale and Gary know that we
opted to not go with the built-in proposal feature, however I think this
latest initiative has some of us re-evaluating that decision.
My question is, if we want the individual department managers to bid hours
on the tasks associated with their departments, and eventually roll those
bids into a new project plan on the server, is the built-in proposal feature
the right way to go?
