We're an ISV at the very beginning of architecting a custom software solution
that needs to offer rich calendaring and collaboration capabilities. This
solution ultimately will be deployed to some customers who have Project and
some who don't, as well as some customers who have SharePoint and some who
don't. All of our customes use Outlook.
We want to develop a backend that can take advantage of Project and
SharePoint, for the customes who have those, but which also can function for
customers who only have Outlook.
Therefore, we're planning to use a backend system that all of these systems
can communicate with.
Is there one or more of Microsoft server technologies that would fill this
bill? And can anyone point me to particularly good resources addressing this
question at MSDN or elsewhere?
