Big problem with Office Web Component of Office XP and IE 5.5 sp2

I used a Microsoft Excel OWC (version XP) and it works fine on IE 5.0 and
6.0, but crashes on 5.5 SP2, it works fine too with Office 2000 and IE 5.5
SP2.
The problem is that excel control loads for the first time, but when you try
to access something else on the page (eg, a button or a link), an error
message pops up - it says "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close." If you click on the details for the error
report, it shows the following information. Then
IE closes and reopens on the default home page.

Error Details - Internet Explorer has encountered an internal error.
Error signature -
AppName:iexplore.exe
AppVer:5.51.4807.2300
ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 5.50.4807.2300
OffSet: 0005a866

We have also received the same messages with OffSet:000b414c.

Please help me

you will need to be up to date on your service packs for internet explorer
as well as the office components for this error to go away. For office
updates: http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/mainCatalog.aspx
