BIG RED "X" in place of graphic

Below is my problem. If anyone can help, I would be very
grateful.

I have several graphics inserted into a WORD file that
needed to be edited. I edited them successfully but then
when I went to print out the document I noticed that each
of the graphic is now only a very big RED "X." Yes, I can
right click on each figure and the changes remain in each
graphic but they will not display in the file.

They even remain RED "Xs" after I have accepted all of
the changes.

I have reviewed the WORD Help file, under Troubleshoot
graphics and that has not fixed it either.

Do you have any idea HOW to get the corrected graphics to
display?
