Wayne,
I started to look at your site the other day and as soon as it started to
load, it also started trying to install some sort of application onto my
computer. The same thing happened today. I don't know if this is from your
site or your web host, but it gives every appearance of some sort of spyware
or something. Could you explain what this is?
It appears that you are using a master or background page which works in a
print publication, but does not work consistently in a web publication.
David Bartosik the resident MVP discourages its use. I say this because all
your images are part of the background and come out poor quality. I also
noticed that when I tried to load page two (sculptors) that it took forever
to load, and when it finally did, the grouping of 60 images, books, text
etc. was what took so long and could be part of the reason why your web site
is so large...it is one huge image that is again part of the background.
This also again leaves the images poor quality.
My general suggestion is to redesign your site without a Master
page...especially the second page. You might need to insert each individual
image of the book with text frames that snap to that image...not overlap, or
it will convert to a GIF image. I would also resample & resize each image
that you are going to use, in a image editing application to about the size
you will need on the web site. And get rid of whatever that app is that
tries to install when I view your page...
