Big thank you to the newsgroup!!!!!

I've learned a lot from this forum and been able to fix some
perplexing problems. David just solved a big one for me, yesterday
using Echo's tips on Microsoft Chart (arghhhhh!!!) helped me out of a
jam, and I've received really useful tips from many other posters.

I really appreciate all the contributions to this discussion forum.
Thank you!

(now if only I could figure out how to custom change the formatting of
month/year axis labels in Graph - to all caps and without the annoying
dash... and WHY sometimes simply opening up a graph and then clicking
off of it sometimes changes the way the fonts and graphs display even
when "autoscale" is deselected. oh well can't win em all!).

I think I just responded to your original post about this.

In Tools | Options, on one of the tabs there, there's a setting for "new
charts take on PPT font" -- or something like that. What's checked there?

Oh, the other reason the fonts might display weird, even without autoscale,
is if the chart becomes stretched. Right-click it and hit the Size tab. Make
sure it's set to 100% x 100%. Then if you need to resize it, double-click to
activate it and then size it while it's active.

Hi,

Depending on where you live, might I suggest www.pptlive.com and you can
meet a few of these folks in person!

I add that if a graph from excel is pasted with link AND animated, then in
slideshow, the fonts are ugly (whatever the font is) though they aren't in
edition mode.
Still have no answer about this (a bug?)

I want to add my thanks for your great note. Just keep in mind that most
of the people who have helped you started out just like you: regular
users with a lot of questions. As we learned more, we not only asked
questions but answered a few. That's how this has turned into such a
great community. After about six or seven years here, I'm only now
getting to the point where I have taught others as much as they taught
me.

Ah, yes, good point, Jean-Pierre. Text does often get jagged in animated
charts.
