Bind a macro to a keystroke in Word 2007????

First off, I'd like to say that I hate Office 2007. P I hate the
huge, fluffy GUI that they force you to use (since your only other
option is to build an entire set of toolbars, one icon at a time, and
just ignore the "ribbon"). I hate that the only features I can find are
extremely obvious ones... which means that every average user is gonna
think this is the best upgrade ever, and every advanced user is gonna
end up pulling their hair out trying to find advanced features that
they've been using for years... which brings me to my question.

How do I bind a keystroke to a macro in Word 2007? Before, I would just
go to Tools > Customize > Keyboard... and bind the keystroke... but
now, of course, since there is no such thing as a "menu" any more, that
option doesn't exist, and I can't find anything like it on the
"ribbon".

Anyone figure this out yet?

Click on the Office pearl (top left of window) and select Word Options. In
the dialog, select Customize (press C to jump to it) and at the bottom is a
button to go to Customize the keyboard.

Click the Office button, click Word Options at the bottom of the
dropdown, click the Customize tab, and find the Keyboard Shortcuts
button at the bottom of the dialog. The resulting Customize Keyboard
dialog is nearly the same as the one in 2003.

When you're trying to find something that was in the previous
versions, go to the Help, click "What's New", and then click
"Reference: Locations of Word 2003 commands in Word 2007".

Thanks guys... that worked...

Jay... jusy so you know, I clicked on that "Reference: Locations of
Word 2003 commands in Word 2007" link in Help and it didn't do
anything... all the other links worked, but that one didn't respond at
all.

Hmm. That's supposed to be in the local help file. Anyway, the same article
is available on the web site at

think you really need is the link it contains to download an Excel
spreadsheet showing all the commands; that link is

There's also an interactive guide at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100744321033.aspx -- you click a
simulation of the Word 2003 menu or toolbar, and it shows you where the
equivalent is in Word 2007.
