Birthdays entered in Contacts

When I enter birthdays in the contact cards, they always appear at recurring
events spanning 2 days in the month view of the calendar. I can open the
series and reset the duration to one day, which pulls it back to one day but
upon closing/reopening outlook, all they all go back to 2 days. It seems
like a bug in Outlook. Any suggestions/fixes or am I just doing something
wrong?

It is how you have your time set in Outlook and Windows. Ensure all time settings match between Windows and Outlook, especially the Daylight Savings time settings - the usual suspects.
