Bit of a tricky word/office problem

S

Sebastian

I have a word document that has track changes turned on.
How ever when i try to check certain changes it just gives
me a user name of either registered user or ("Domain Name"
User) as opposed to the actual user name as the user
information in the options menu is/was to general. I guess
the question i have is, is it possible to find out the
username of who made the specific change in the document,
i.e would a trace of the SID be left in the back ground in
reference to the change to the doc This is probably not
possible but if anyone can help i would be really
grateful. Many Thanks in advance Seb

Hi Seb

The short answer is: no.

When TrackChanges is on, Word stores a tracked change, and stores the reviewer's name as the name at Tools > Options > User
Information. Word doesn't store the information in any secondary place.

Hope this helps.
