Bitmap photos sent can't be seen by some.

When I forward emails I receive from others, some of my recipients are not
able to view the photographs. It is the photos that are in bitmap format.
However, if a friend of mine sends the same photos to my recipients, they are
able to view the photographs. So, is it one of my settings in Outlook 2003
or is it something in their settings? All four of the recipients that cannot
view the photos have DSL lines from either Bell South or SBC Global.

Thank you.

Are you using Rich Text as your Outlook format? Tools > Options > Mail Format.

What do your recipients see when they receive your bmp files? What happens
when they try to open them? Do they use Outlook or another email client?

They are able to view text, no photographs. They all use Incredimail. (I
didn't realize that until now. I thought one did not.)

Also, one is on Yahoo software with SBC afterall. When viewing, if it is in
the body of the email, they can only view text. If it is an attachment, the
attachment is blank.

What email client does your friend who can forward your email to them
successfully use?

I just sent one of the people a bitmap photo in "plain text" from my Outlook.
She could see it.

If I leave mine set at "plain text", what do I lose?

Thank you.

That really sounds like you're sending RIch Text format, since that's one of
the symptoms. Are you aware that you can override the general Outook format
settings with per-contact settings, so that evey if you think you're sending
HTML, the recipient might get Rich Text anyway? Open the person's contact
record and double-click the email address. Look at the "Internet format"
drop-down. It should say "Let Outlook decide the best sending format". If
it says "Send using Outlook Rich Text format", you've found the cause.

Brian, I tried to find this. Even MS help shows the screens as you noted and
said it was through the action menu. So far, I have been unable to locate
where I can specify the internet format.

Thank you.

Brian, you were right. I finally found the spot to try what you advised and
so far...it works. THANK YOU.

Describe EXACTLY what steps you're following.
